FxPro Trading Hours in Kenya — Market Clock vs Payment Clock
When the market is open, when spreads are tight and when the rollover hits — all measured on FxPro’s own MetaTrader 5 server and converted to EAT.
Open FxPro Account →Two clocks run over a Kenyan FxPro account and only one of them is the market. The market clock decides when you can trade and when the daily rollover posts the overnight swap, tripled on the Wednesday that carries the weekend value date. The money clock is the one your bank and your e-wallet keep: card and wallet deposits are usually credited within about 10 minutes whatever the hour, while a bank wire moves on business days and an international one takes 3 to 5 of them. A payout follows the same business-day rhythm, so the hour you press the button is rarely the hour the money moves.

⚠ marks hours where the average measured spread runs at least twice the typical hour — the daily rollover window stands out immediately.
The rollover lands in the morning here
The daily rollover (swap posting, brief spread widening) happens at 00:00 server time — which is around 00:00 EAT. Positions carried through breakfast hours pay or earn the overnight swap, and tight stops around that time can be hit by the spread alone.
Swap multipliers measured from the server: Monday ×1, Tuesday ×1, Wednesday ×3, Thursday ×1, Friday ×1. The Wednesday triple swap posts at the daily rollover that follows — around 00:00 EAT the next morning.
Cheapest hours to trade (measured)
Ranked by movement per pip of spread on the measured feed, the best EUR/USD hours recently were around 17:00, 16:00, 15:00 EAT; the most expensive were around 23:00, 00:00 EAT (rollover).
How this was measured
- Session times: the per-instrument quote-session table published by the MT5 server itself.
- Hourly spreads: every captured quote, bucketed by server hour over the last 24h.
- Swap multipliers: per-weekday swap factors read from the server.
- Times converted to EAT with current daylight rules; figures refresh on a schedule.
The charge clock: the hours when the account is debited
Nothing on an FxPro account is billed monthly. Every charge is attached to a moment, and three of those moments sit on the clock above. The spread is taken the instant an order fills, so it belongs to the hour you trade. On Raw+ and cTrader the commission of $3.50 per lot per side is taken at the same instant and again when you close. The overnight swap is the only one that waits: it posts at the daily rollover, which lands here in the small hours EAT, and it is charged once for every rollover your position survives.
That makes the rollover the most useful line on this page for anyone watching a balance rather than a chart. A trade opened at nine in the morning EAT and closed before you sleep never meets it. The same trade left open meets it once a night, and if one of those nights is a Wednesday it meets a triple charge, because that rollover carries the weekend value date. Nothing else about the position changes; the arithmetic of holding it does. Eligible swap-free accounts hold no swap interest at all, according to FxPro.
The measured hourly table above answers the other half of the question: which local hours make the entry deduction bigger. Around the rollover and in the thin hours the spread widens, so the same order size costs more to open at two in the morning EAT than in the busy afternoon. If you can choose your hour, you are choosing a cost. See swap rates for what a night actually takes and spreads for how a spread becomes cash.
The money clock: when a shilling can actually move
Funding and payouts run on a different timetable, and it is the one that surprises people. Deposits by card, Skrill, Neteller or PayPal are usually credited within about 10 minutes at any hour of the EAT day, because those rails are automated. A bank wire is not: it settles the same business day domestically and takes 3 to 5 business days internationally, so a transfer sent late on a Friday in Nairobi is normally a Monday or Tuesday balance.
Money also arrives one step short of the terminal. A deposit lands in the FxPro Wallet first and you move it across to the trading account yourself, which is a manual step with no clock on it at all. If a balance looks stuck an hour after a card payment, that step is the usual reason rather than anything to do with market hours.
Payouts run 24/5 rather than around the clock: FxPro states it aims to process a withdrawal request within one business day, and the request has to go back to the method the deposit arrived on. E-wallet payouts are usually the same business day, cards usually within one, and an international wire again takes 3 to 5. Whatever the broker's side takes, your bank or wallet then adds its own hours on top.
Fitting a trading week in Kenya around both clocks
- Send the first deposit early in the week if it is a bank wire, and keep cards or e-wallets for the times you need funds in minutes.
- Move the money out of the FxPro Wallet into the trading account as soon as it lands, so the balance is where you expect it when you want to trade.
- Pick your entry hour with the measured table above: the busier EAT afternoon carries a narrower spread than the thin hours around the rollover.
- Decide before you open whether the position is meant to sleep. If it is, count the rollovers it will meet, and count Wednesday's as three.
- Close or reduce a position you do not want to carry through the Wednesday rollover, rather than finding the triple charge on the statement afterwards.
- Send a withdrawal request early in a business day and on the same method you funded with, so the broker's one business day and your provider's own delay do not stack up into a week.
CFD trading carries a high risk of losing money. Measured times refresh on a schedule, and payment providers set their own hours.
Two clocks, one account: what moves at which hour
| Event | Which clock | Typical timing in Kenya | Effect on the balance |
|---|---|---|---|
| Order fills | Market | Any open market hour | Spread taken at once; on Raw+ and cTrader $3.50 per lot on top |
| Order closes | Market | Any open market hour | Second $3.50 per lot on Raw+ and cTrader |
| Daily rollover | Market | Overnight EAT, once per night held | Swap debited or credited; none on eligible swap-free accounts |
| Wednesday rollover | Market | Overnight EAT, midweek | Triple swap, covering the weekend value date |
| Card or e-wallet deposit | Money | Usually about 10 minutes | Credited to the FxPro Wallet, then moved across by you |
| Bank wire deposit | Money | Same business day locally, 3 to 5 days internationally | Nothing changes until it settles |
| Withdrawal request | Money | Processed 24/5, usually within one business day | Leaves by the method the deposit arrived on |
Deposit and payout timings are what FxPro states for its own processing; your bank or e-wallet adds its own on top.
